How it works

From a video to their purr, in your hands

A purr is felt as much as it’s heard. So we developed our own math to turn a simple video into something you can hold: a vibration shaped from the rhythm of their purr, and nobody else’s.

  1. Bring their purr

    A video or recording from your camera roll, Files or Voice Memos, or record one now. Even 10 seconds is enough.

  2. We listen, pulse by pulse

    Our purr math finds every pulse in the recording. It clears the noise in the quiet between them, keeps the tone that’s only theirs, and joins the end to the start so it never stops or jumps.

  3. Their rhythm becomes touch

    From those pulses it builds a vibration that follows their purr exactly: the slow rise and fall of each breath, and a soft tap for every pulse. Not a generic buzz. Theirs.

  4. Feel it in your hands

    Sound and vibration play together, in time. Hold it against your chest, or in your lap, the way they’d curl up with you.

What is Purrmark?

Purrmark is an iPhone app that keeps your cat’s purr. You bring a video or audio recording of them purring, our purr math clears away background noise, finds a seamless loop, and turns the rhythm of every pulse into a gentle vibration. It plays back as sound and touch together, so you can hold their purr close.

Can I use a video I already have?

Yes. Any video or audio recording where you can hear them purring works, including clips from your camera roll or Voice Memos. Even 10 seconds is enough; longer feels more natural. You can also record a new one in the app.

Can I save the purr of a cat who’s with me now?

Yes. Purrmark is for any cat, whether they’re curled up beside you right now or held in memory. Years are optional, and nothing in the app assumes either.

Where are my cat’s recording and photos kept?

In your own iCloud. A cat stays private unless you choose to share them in the Purr gallery, and only shared cats send their name, photo, story and purr to our server, only while they’re shared.

How much does Purrmark cost?

Previewing is free: you can hear and feel your own cat’s purr in the app before paying anything. Saving it is a single one-time payment per cat, with no subscription. What you pay helps keep Purrmark available on the App Store for the long run.

What is the Purr gallery?

A quiet, shared space where people can choose to place their cat as a softly glowing light. Visitors can tap a light to feel that cat’s purr and give them one of their favourite pets, like a chin scratch or an ear rub.

Can I give a purr as a gift?

Yes, and it’s a gentle gift for someone missing their cat, or one who simply adores theirs. You pay once, add a few words and choose the day it arrives. They add their cat’s recording without paying, and it’s theirs to keep.

Which devices does it run on?

Purrmark is made for iPhone and needs iOS 26 or later. The vibration uses the iPhone’s haptic engine, so the purr is best felt on the phone itself.
